Tailgate Before Home Football Games

Riverside Community College District will be hosting a tailgate party prior to home football games. Starting with the Tigers' home opener on Sept. 11 (vs. San Bernardino Valley), tailgates will be held on the football practice field and will include music, games, face painting, the RCC Marching Tigers, the RCC cheerleaders and other activities. Tom Craft, who is in his first year as head coach of the Tigers, will address the tailgate crowd prior to kickoff. There is no cost to attend the tailgate events. Participants will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and a drink.

50-Year (Plus) Football Reunion

Riverside Community College District will be holding a 50-year football reunion for the 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1961 football teams. The 1960 football team won the Eastern Conference Championship. On Friday, November 5 at 5:30 pm there will be a reception for the players at the Alumni House (Riverside City Campus) and then on Saturday, November 6 the players will be recognized during the Tigers’ home football game against College of the Desert and at the chancellor’s 4 pm tailgate event.

Rich Ramirez, former RCC vice president and a player on the 1959 and 1960 teams, and Jim Kross, former RCC athletic director and a player on the 1960 and 1961 teams, are coordinating the event with the District’s foundation office.
