SANTA ANA OVERWHELMS RIVERSIDE, 5-0

SOCCER MEN (10/28/2011)

The two teams played the first half even according to the stats with each team getting two shots on goal. But it was the Dons who generated the first quality scoring chance in the 10th minute.

Briant Rodelo controlled the ball through the middle of the field and slipped a pass to Christian Supancic through the Tigers defense. Supancic quickly took a shot that deflected off Riverside''s keeper and into the back of the net to put the Dons up 1-0.

It was in the second half when the Dons took control of the game. Cesar Hernandez put the Dons up 2-0 when he scored on a cross from Edgar Islas in the 54th minute. The next two goals came 20 minutes later, within five minutes of each other.

Mulhall also set up the next goal. In the 74th minute, he won the ball in the corner from a Riverside defender, faked another defender and then crossed the ball into the box where Razo headed it into the lower right corner of the net to make it a 2-0 game.
