WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS HARD FOR MIRAMAR

SOCCER WOMEN (8/28/2010)

So maybe it wasn't the best scheduling move after all. Riverside head coach Lynsey Jalayer wanted to test her team early, so schedule MIramar College, a contender in the run for the state title in 2010. After falling 5-0, coach Jalayer says Miramar is for real.

"MIramar easily has to be one of the top teams this season," she said. "They played a near perfect match."

But not all is lost, according to Jalayer. "We're a good team, too," she said. "We have a couple things to work on, but I'm still encouraged with the group of players I have."

Riverside will be put to the test again Wednesday (Sept. 1) when the Tigers host Mt. San Antonio. Like Miramar, the Mounties were a playoff qualifier last season. The match begins at 3 pm at the soccer facility on the district's Norco....More

Tiger Backer President Trey Smith

Welcome to the 2010-2011 Riverside Community College academic and athletic school year. I'm honored to be your incoming President and to have Randy Hord as my vice president. I played basketball at RCC for Coach Dave Waxman and then went on to graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Randy also attended RCC and was an all-everything football player during his time as a Tiger and eventually went on to play football at USC.

It is interesting to note that my father, Clyde "Smitty" Smith, was a longtime member of the Tiger Backers and past president, as was Randy's father Roy Hord. The goal of the Tiger Backers has always been to help our student-athlete compete at their highest level, and under Randy and I we will make sure the Tiger Backers continue to help our student-athletes reach t....More
